Happy Birthday Landen!!!

Well, today is Landen's 8th birthday! I can't believe I'm old enough to have an 8 year old, but I do. We celebrated last Saturday with a swimming party at the community center. We had a great time, although it was a little hot inside the pool area! All his grandparents got to come and join in the fun (plus help take care of baby sister.)

Landen, here are the things I think of when I think of you. You are a very polite and tenderhearted boy. You are very caring (most of the time!) for your little brother and sister. You LOVE nascar - especially Jeff Gordon. You also love baseball, football, and watching ESPN. You like to play outside - whether its shooting the basketball, playing catch, throwing the football, roller blading, or riding your bike. Your quite athletic! You also spend a lot of time playing your playstation 2 and gameboy. You make great grades in school and I don't have any behavior problems with you. We are very proud of you for being accepted to "Alpha" which you were just tested for and is a program for "gifted & talented" kids. Way to go! You also love to wrestle with dad and you want to please him at all times. Sometimes, you are a little to hard on yourself.

Some of your chores as an 8 year old include sorting your laundry, making your bed, watching your siblings on occasion, starting to empty the dishwasher (which you do a great job!) and various other things as needed. You really don't complain about them too much.

Today, we plan on taking you out to eat lunch and then you have a baseball game tonight. Stay tuned for baseball news - we have a feeling we are going to get rained out.

On another note, Matt and I are trying to get the house ready. A For Sale sign is going in the yard on Monday. I can't believe it is time for us to move again. The timeframe is still up in the air - we were told July and now they are trying to bump us back up to June. We are hoping for the July date for a number of reasons. Wish us luck! We've got a busy weekend ahead and the market isn't to good around here. Anyone want to buy a house?? lol

Well, Happy Birthday Landen!!! We love you..... Keep up the good work and stop growing!!

Who is this baby?

I dedicate this post to my own frustration of baby Jordyn! While I love her to death, she is definitely testing my patience in the last couple of weeks. Dear little Jordyn has become whiny, wiggly, no sleep, unhappy little Jordyn! I don't know what has happened... lets hope its only a phase. I think she is getting me back for all the nights she has slept since she was two weeks old. She has spoiled me, that's for sure. That being said, she has made some new accomplishments - she is sitting up for short periods of time (around a minute), rolling consistently from her tummy to her back so she can make it all the way across the floor now, and she is holding her own bottle (sort of!) lol.

We've all been sick for various reasons, but I think we are on the mend. We met with our realtor yesterday and are putting the house up for sale in about two weeks. We have lots to do before then - yard work, touch up paint, spring cleaning. The kids are out for Spring Break as of this afternoon for a week and a 1/2. We don't have much planned - maybe a few trips to the park, baseball practice and whatever the day may bring us. I just hope the weather is pretty.

Back to Jordyn, I think she's ready for her nap. She's wailing as I type this so I need to run. I'm including a picture of Hayden sucking his toes... he is continually making us laugh. He's so witty - I could write a book!

Its been 5 months

since we brought our precious new little baby girl home. Jordyn - here is what you are doing. You are still a very quiet baby and you do not like a lot of commotion. You LOVE to look and laugh at both of your big brothers. You laugh and cackle almost every night in the bathtub as you suck on your hands or a washcloth. You are not as content as you used to be just laying on the floor with a toy. You want to be held and walked around so that you can see whats going on in the world. You do enjoy some time in your "jumper." You still sleep like a champ and take about 2 to 3 naps a day. Usually one of those naps is 1 1/2 - 2 hours and the others are all short. Your back is quite strong and I think you will be sitting in a matter of a few weeks. You've learned to tolerate your tummy a little better now that you roll over onto it all the time. You don't roll over at night, so that's a good thing for mommy and daddy! You have been eating a bit of cereal for about a week or two once a day. Most days you like it and do really well, but a few days you were not interested. Mommy is still nursing you, but she is weaning you. I have really enjoyed getting to breastfeed this time around because it has gone so easily. However, with everything that is happening in our lives and coming up (baseball season, selling our house and moving to Germany!) it is going to be easier to give you a bottle. Right now, I'm still nursing you 4 times a day, but will probably cut back to 3 times a day in the next few weeks. You are taking your bottles really well and are even trying to hold them a little. Happy 5 months, Jordyn. We love you more and more everyday.

Congrats Daddy & Steve!

This weekend Matt and his brother Steve ran in the Little Rock marathon. They both completed the "half" marathon which is a little over 13 miles. This was Matts second time to participate in one and Steve's first. They both did great and were quite tired when it was over. Congrats, boys! You are very inspiring. Maybe one of these days I'll be motivated to do a 5K. lol

As always, we enjoyed our visit with you. The boys just can't get enough of their cousins....
